The Cotabato Libraries and Information Network (COLINET), in partnership with PLAI SOCCSKSARGEN REGIONAL LIBRARIAN’S COUNCIL and EBSCO Information Services, successfully held a webinar on July 19, 2024, aimed at strengthening the competencies of librarians, educators, and students in the use of Artificial Intelligence.
The online event featured two distinguished speakers—Prof. Winda B. Cejas and Prof. Novie Joy I. Salmorin—who shared expert insights in their respective field of expertise.
The webinar drew participants from academic institutions, public libraries, and professional organizations across Region XII and beyond, highlighting the growing demand for enhanced digital literacy in the field of library and information science.
Prof. Cejas discussed best practices in Marketing Strategy: Tools in Promoting Library Sources Delivery. Meanwhile, Prof. Salmorin tackled “Transforming Libraries with Artificial Intelligence, Innovations, Applications and Future Trends”
In her opening remarks, COLINET President Dielita M. Garcia acknowledged the importance of equipping library professionals with up-to-date digital skills. “As information managers in the digital age, we must continuously evolve. This webinar is part of COLINET’s commitment to advancing professional development in our community,” she said.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers.
