COLINET Holds Turn-Over Ceremony for New Set of Officers

The Cotabato Libraries and Information Network (COLINET) marked a new chapter in its leadership as it formally held the Turn-Over Ceremony of its new set of officers on January 26, 2024. The event, attended by member institutions and guests, underscored the organization’s commitment to continuity, service, and collaborative growth in the field of library and information science.

Held at 2nd Floor of KEPLRC the ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of the outgoing officers and officially welcomed the newly elected leaders who will serve the network for the 2024–2026 term.

Outgoing COLINET President Emelyn B. Catulong expressed deep appreciation to all members and partner institutions for their unwavering support during the previous term. “Leading COLINET has been a humbling and fulfilling journey. Together, we’ve achieved so much in strengthening professional ties and advancing library services in the region,” the outgoing president said.

The highlight of the event was the symbolic handover of responsibilities—represented by the passing of the COLINET banner and documents—to the incoming officers led by Dielita M. Garcia who now takes the helm as COLINET President. In her acceptance speech, the new president vowed to continue promoting professional development, collaborative projects, and innovations in library services.

“We envision a stronger and more dynamic COLINET, where every member institution has a voice and a role in shaping the future of librarianship in Cotabato,” she said.

The event included a formal oath-taking ceremony, inspirational messages from partner organizations, and a planning session to set the network’s goals and priorities for the year ahead.
